Some Travel Credits are issued annually on the anniversary date that your Account was opened and some can be earned by hitting a designated spend threshold.
You will need to use the full value of your Travel Credit in a single booking.
Keep in mind that if you cancel your travel booking, we will not be able to refund your Travel Credit. You will see your Travel Credit as a payment option at check out when your book through American Express Travel. This can only be redeemed on pre-paid flights, hotels and car rental booked through American Express Travel Online.
Be sure to use your Travel Credit before it expires. To find out when it expires, Log In to your Account and hover your mouse over the Travel Credit to view the expiry date and Terms and Conditions.
Any already earned Membership Rewards® points on your Business Platinum Card®, can also be used to pay or part pay for your trip.*

How you use your American Express Travel Credit
Step 1: Log in
Log in to your American Express account. If unused, view your valid Travel Credit amount in the top right corner of the page. Hover your mouse over the Travel Credit to view the expiry date and terms and conditions.
Step 2: Search
Begin your travel search through the American Express Travel Online site.
Your available payment options will be displayed in the results.
Step 3: Apply Credit
On the checkout page, redeem your Travel Credit by selecting the Travel Credit radio button. You may redeem one Travel Credit credit per booking
Step 4: Book Trip
Book your trip using a combination of the Travel Credit, American Express Membership Rewards points, and your American Express Card.
1. Log in to your Account and begin your travel search through American Express Travel. Your available payment options will be displayed once you proceed to the check out page.
2. Make a booking to the full value of your Travel Credit or more and select the Travel Credit at checkout.
3. Pay for your booking using your eligible American Express Card and we will credit the amount to your Account within 30 business days.

If your booking is cancelled, and your Travel Credit has already been used and associated statement credit applied to your account, you will forfeit your Travel Credit benefit and American Express may reverse the statement credits issued. If you cancel your Card, change your rewards program or Card type you will no longer be eligible for the Travel Credit.
Yes, you can use a combination of Membership Rewards® Points and a Travel Credit. After you have selected the Travel Credit, if the value of the booking is greater than the Travel Credit, you can use Membership Rewards Points for the remaining balance.
In order to redeem the Travel Credit, your Card must be in good standing and you must have paid the annual fee and minimum payment by the due date. Some Travel Credits require a spend threshold to be hit before the Credit is issued. You can check what Travel Credits have been issued by logging into Amex Travel Online.

No. If your booking is less than the value of your Travel Credit, you will not be able to use your Travel Credit benefit.

Yes, the Travel Credit is applied to the total booking amount. The total booking amount, including tax and charges, must be equal to or greater than the Travel Credit amount.
Yes, you can use the Travel Credit to book travel for other people, such as family members or friends, provided the tickets are not for resale, promotional, or commercial use. You do not have to travel with them.
The Travel Credit can be used on new prepaid travel bookings that are greater than the value of your Travel Credit on American Express Travel Online (www.americanexpress.com/uk/travel) It cannot be redeemed over the phone with a consultant. It must be used once and in its entirety and cannot be redeemed multiple times for smaller transactions. It will only appear when searching for a booking worth more than your Travel Credit value.
To spend your unused Travel Credit, begin your travel search through the American Express Travel site. On the checkout page select the Travel Credit radio button. You can also pay for your trip using a combination of your Travel Credit, your Membership Rewards points or your American Express® Card. Check that the total value of your booking is at least the same value as your Travel Credit and remember your Travel Credit can only be used in one single prepaid transaction. Complete your booking after you have selected your payment options. Your Travel Credit value will be applied to your statement within 30 days of your reservation.
No, there is not additional fee to redeem points and/or the Travel Credit for travel booked online with American Express Travel.

If your Card has a Travel Credit benefit, only Primary Card Member is eligible for the Travel Credit(s) that are issued, subject to the full Travel Credit Terms and Conditions. The Travel Credit can be redeemed through American Express Travel Online on a single eligible travel booking by selecting the Travel Credit when you checkout. To redeem the Travel Credit, the full value of the Travel Credit (or more) must be charged to the eligible Primary Card. Eligible travel includes flights, hotels or car hire when you prepay in advance. The Travel Credit cannot be used after the expiration date. To check the expiration date of your Travel Credit if you have not already redeemed it, please visit American Express Travel Online; log in and click ‘Travel Credit’. If your booking is cancelled, and your Travel Credit has already been used and associated statement credit applied to your account, you will forfeit your Travel Credit benefit and American Express may reverse the statement credits issued. You need to be able to spend on the Card to access the Travel Credit benefit and it should be credited to your Card Account within 3 business days but may take up to 30 days. Your account must be in good standing and you must have paid the annual fee and minimum payment by the due date. *When redeeming Membership Rewards® points to book your travel, the full transaction amount will be charged to your Card. You will need to be able to pay for the full transaction amount of your booking shown including any taxes fees and carrier charges (as applicable) charged to your Card upon booking. Excludes any fees that may be charged by the travel provider. Usually within 30 days from booking (although may take up to 60 days), you will receive a statement credit for any Membership Rewards® points you have redeemed towards the travel purchase. If the credit isn't on the same statement as the transaction, it will appear on your next statement. Please pay all amounts due each month.
