Apply for a card

Criteria for applying for a Business Entry Card:

  • Your business must have been registered with the Chamber of Commerce for at least a year.
  • You do not have a negative registration at the Bureau of Credit Registration (BKR).
  • You have a gross salary of at least €23,000 a year.

Please keep the following information ready before starting the application:

  • Chamber of Commerce (KvK) number
  • Annual gross salary and company revenue
  • Valid ID document: Passport, Dutch identity card or European identity document (issued in an EU or EEA country). A drivers license can not be accepted. Both a copy of the front and back side of your identity document are required.
  • Keep your mobile phone and bank app ready for verification1 of your personal data and the online identification.

1 As a financial institution, American Express is required to comply with the requirements of the Anti-Money Laundering and Anti-Terrorist Financing Act (AML). To that end, we need to verify your personal data. We do this by using a partner, Signicat, specialised in digital identification and verification via iDIN and Onfirdo. First we verify your address details via iDIN, by using your own bank's log-in procedure. Then you need to identify yourself online via Onfido by means of a valid passport or European identity document. Please follow the procedures on your desktop and/or mobile.

Safe (online) payments

With your Business Entry Card you can always pay safely, also online.

  • Small amounts up to €50 can be paid contactless. Did you know you can also pay with Apple Pay? Add your Card to your Wallet for even more secure no-touch payments.
  • Is your Card lost or stolen and are transactions made with it? These will be covered by American Express.
  • You can withdraw cash at ATMs via the Express Cash Service* (you can register for this via our Customer Service team)

Additional insurances

The Business Entry Card comes with the following additional insurances*, if the business trip is paid for with your Business Entry Card.

Business Travel Inconvenience:

  • Delayed connection (max. €150 per person per trip)
  • Missed connection (max. €275 per person per trip)
  • Delayed or lost luggage (max. €275 per person per trip)
  • Has your checked luggage not arrived at the destination airport within 48 hours of arrival? Then you have supplementary cover for this (max. €125 per person per trip)

Business Travel Accidents:

  • You are covered for the consequences of an accident while travelling on public transport, in case the trip has been paid for with the Business Entry Card.
  • Maximum cover of €175,000 in the event of death or permanent disability as a result of an accident.
