If your business moves quickly and operates at scale, the way you pay is important. The new American Express Graphite™ Business Cash Unlimited Card is made for business owners who value straightforward rewards, flexible spending capacity, and practical tools, all backed by the trusted membership and service of American Express. With an Annual Fee of $295¤, the Card has three core features to help fuel your business’s mission:
- Straightforward Cash Back Rewards: A simple way to earn cash back on routine purchases and strategic business expenses, plus more when you book travel through American Express Travel® Online.
- Built-in Flexibility: No Preset Spending Limit and the option to pay over time with interest. The amount you can spend adapts based on factors such as your purchase, payment, and credit history.
- Practical Business Tools: Efficient ways to track spending, reconcile payments, and pay vendors.
Elements for a Thriving Business
Why Graphite? The mineral graphite – reflected in the Card’s metal form and carbon fiber-inspired texture – can be used in everything from household tools to aerospace innovations. It’s a material known to be able to push the limits of what’s possible, and the Graphite™ Card is designed for business leaders who strive to do the same. Now let's dig into the Card’s three core features.
Straightforward Cash Back Rewards
Earning cash back is as simple as making your next business purchase
When you’re looking to make every purchase count, straightforward cash back can help. The Graphite™ Card makes earning cash back simple, so you can use it for inventory, marketing, and other routine expenses, while earning cash back you can reinvest to keep your business moving.
Say you’re restocking supplies, running a few ads, or covering a monthly software bill: Those everyday purchases on your Graphite™ Card can earn cash back you can use as a statement credit, or at Amazon.com checkout.
Unlimited 2% cash back on all eligible business purchases*
The more you spend, the more you earn: As a Graphite™ Card Member, you’ll earn unlimited 2% cash back on your purchases. Cash back is received in the form of Reward Dollars that can be redeemed as a statement credit and at Amazon.com checkout.
Unlimited 5% cash back on flights and prepaid hotels booked through American Express Travel® Online†
When you travel for work, you can earn cash back there, too. Graphite™ Card Members earn unlimited 5% cash back on flights and prepaid hotels booked through American Express Travel® Online. Purchases eligible for multiple cash back rates will only receive the highest eligible cash back rate.
Here's what counts as eligible travel purchases:
- Flights: scheduled flights booked on AmexTravel.com or the Amex Travel App™
- Hotels: prepaid hotels booked on AmexTravel.com or the Amex Travel App™

Built-in Flexibility
No Preset Spending Limit and the option to pay over time with interest
Big inventory orders. Bulk supplies. New equipment. When opportunity knocks, flexible spending capacity can help you keep your business moving.
No Preset Spending Limit: Unlock more purchase power as you use your Card
With the Card’s No Preset Spending Limit feature, this means the spending limit is flexible. In fact, unlike a traditional credit card with a set limit, the amount you can spend adapts based on factors such as your purchase, payment, and credit history.3 The more you use your Card and regularly make payments, the more your spending power could grow. And for bigger purchases, you can use the Check Spending Power tool in your account online or in the American Express® App to confirm approval for amounts beyond your usual spending. Approval based on account status at time of request.
Pay Over Time: Carry a balance with interest on eligible charges
Cash flow isn’t always predictable, especially in times when an expensive piece of equipment needs replacing. With the Pay Over Time feature, you can carry a balance with interest on eligible charges up to your Pay Over Time Limit, bringing flexible spending capacity to many of your business expenses.4
How it works:
- You are assigned an Annual Percentage Rate and a Pay Over Time Limit, which represents the maximum you can carry as a balance at any given time.
- As you make purchases, eligible charges will be automatically added to your Pay Over Time balance up to your Pay Over Time Limit when your setting is set to On. In addition, a charge may be eligible to be automatically moved to your Pay Over Time balance on your Closing Date if you have available Pay Over Time Limit.
- Upon making a payment at the end of your billing period, you can decide to pay the statement balance in full, the Minimum Payment Due or any amount in between with interest.
- You must pay in full any charge or a portion of a charge that is not added to a Pay Over Time balance.
- Your Pay Over Time setting is initially set to On, which allows you to carry a balance with interest on eligible charges. When the setting is set to Off, all new eligible charges will be added to your Pay In Full balance and required to be paid in full at your next Payment Due Date.

Practical Business Tools
Explore financial solutions built to support your evolving business needs
Graphite™ Card Membership does more than offer cash back. It can also help simplify back-office functions with Employee Cards, Virtual Cards, and a digital accounts payable solution.
Employee Cards: Centralize team spend with built-in guardrails
As your business grows, you can give employees the tools they need to make approved purchases, while you maintain oversight. With the Graphite™ Card, you can add up to 99 Employee Cards that can earn cash back in the form of Rewards Dollars in the same way your own Business Card does.
Employee Cards can help you:
- Earn Rewards: You can earn cash back† on Employee Card purchases in the same way your own Card does.
- Set Boundaries: Set limits5 on how much your employees can spend. Tell us how much you want your employees to be able to charge on the Card per billing period. You can modify or remove this limit anytime.
- Stay Up to Date: Know how much your employees are spending in real time. Sign up to get texts or emails when employees spend a certain amount.
The Annual Fee for the Employee Graphite™ Business Cash Unlimited Card is $95 for the first five Cards and then $95 for each Card thereafter. These Cards will be issued with the same metal Card design as that of the Basic Card Member. Plastic Employee Business Expense Cards that have no Annual Fee are also available.

Merchants are assigned codes based on what they primarily sell. We group certain merchant codes into categories that are eligible for additional points. A purchase with a merchant will not earn additional points if the merchant’s code is not included in an additional points category. You may not receive additional points if we receive inaccurate information or are otherwise unable to identify your purchase as eligible for an additional points category. For example, you may not receive additional points when: a merchant uses a third-party to sell their products or services; or a merchant uses a third-party to process or submit your transaction to us (e.g., using mobile or wireless card readers); or you choose to make a purchase using a third-party payment account or make a purchase using a mobile or digital wallet.

3 No Preset Spending Limit
No Preset Spending Limit means your spending limit is flexible. Unlike a traditional card with a set limit, the amount you can spend adapts based on factors such as your purchase, payment, and credit history.
4 Pay Over Time Option
Eligible Charges: Eligible charges made by you or any Additional Card Member on your account can be paid over time. The following types of charges are ineligible for Pay Over Time: American Express® Travelers Cheques and other cash equivalents, certain insurance premiums, casino and other gambling transactions, any fees owed to American Express except foreign transaction fees, and other transactions designated by us. In addition, statement credits for eligible purchases, or any reversals of a statement credit, may be applied to either your Pay Over Time balance or Pay In Full balance regardless of where the eligible purchases originally posted. Any charge subject to a foreign transaction fee is not eligible to be moved to Pay Over Time on your Closing Date. Pay Over Time Settings: Pay Over Time on your account is initially set to On. There are two settings, On and Off. When set to On, eligible charges will be automatically placed in your Pay Over Time balance, up to your Pay Over Time Limit. When set to Off, no new charges will be included in your Pay Over Time balance. You can change this setting by visiting your online account or calling the number on the back of your Card. Interest on your Pay Over Time balance: For charges added automatically to a Pay Over Time balance, at the time they post to your account, we charge interest beginning on the date of each charge. For charges that we automatically move from your Pay in Full balance to your Pay Over Time balance on your Closing Date, we charge interest from the day after they are added to your Pay Over Time balance. We will not charge interest on charges automatically added to your Pay Over Time balance if you pay your account Total New Balance by the Payment Due Date each month. If at the time you turn on Pay Over Time, you’re already carrying a Pay Over Time balance from your last billing period, we will charge interest on new eligible charges added to a Pay Over Time balance from the transaction date. However, for charges that we move from your Pay In Full balance to your Pay Over Time balance on your Closing Date, we will charge interest from the day after they are added to your Pay Over Time balance. You must pay in full, by the Payment Due Date, any charge or portion of a charge that is not added to a Pay Over Time balance. Pay Over Time Limit: We assign a Pay Over Time Limit to your Account. Your Pay Over Time Limit is the maximum amount you may carry as a balance. We may increase or decrease the amount of your Pay Over Time Limit and will tell you if we change that amount. Your Pay Over Time Limit may be different than the total amount you are allowed to spend on your Card. You must pay at least the Minimum Payment Due by the Payment Due Date each month to keep your account in good standing. The Minimum Payment Due includes all Pay in Full charges, any interest accrued on your account and a portion of your Pay Over Time balance. No Preset Spending Limit: No Preset Spending Limit means your spending limit is flexible. Unlike a traditional Card with a set limit, the amount you can spend adjusts based on factors such as your purchase, payment, and credit history.
5 Employee Card – Category Alerts
Employee Card Spending Limits may be set up online or by calling the number on the back of your Card. The Spending Limit is not a guarantee that the Employee Card Member will be able to make purchases up to that limit. There are certain purchases where the limit does not apply, such as, for example, restaurant tips and hotel stays extended beyond their original reservation period, and the overall Account capacity is taken into consideration. You agree to pay all Charges without regard to whether any Charges exceed a limit, and you agree that we are not liable to you or any other person when a limit is not applied to any Charges and/or when Charges are incurred and billed that exceed a limit. For more information on the application of the limit, please refer to the Employee Card Spending Limits Terms and Conditions at www.americanexpress.com/spendlimits/terms, which will also be provided when you enroll Employee Card(s) in this feature.
6 American Express One AP®
American Express One AP® may not be available to all customers. To access the service, all customers will be required to enroll their eligible U.S.-issued American Express® Business, Corporate, or Corporate Purchasing Card. There is no fee to use the service for customers electing to process only Card payments. Use of additional payment methods requires activation through an American Express® Specialist and a monthly platform access fee of $200 which will automatically renew each month, unless the service is cancelled or all additional payments methods are deactivated, as applicable. If additional payment methods are being used, with the monthly platform access fee, to the extent used, the first 400 check transactions and first 400 automated ACH transactions each month are complimentary, after which point a fee of $1.00 per check and $0.35 per automated ACH transaction will apply. Fees are subject to change. Sales tax on fees may apply. All fees associated with American Express One AP® will be auto-billed monthly in arrears to the first Card enrolled for the service. The monthly platform access fee will be charged starting in the month in which the customer first uses an additional payment method and will not be pro-rated; the full monthly platform access fee will be charged regardless of when in the month a customer activates and first uses an additional payment method. Customers may cancel the service or activate/deactivate additional payment methods by contacting their American Express® Specialist. The customer will be charged the full monthly platform access fee (and any applicable transaction fees and taxes) for the month in which the service is cancelled (or all additional payment methods are deactivated), with continued access to the service for the thirty days following the cancellation date. Customer must cancel by 5:00 PM ET on the last business day of the month to avoid being charged the platform access fee for the following month. 7 American Express One AP® Statement Credit
Basic Card Members on a U.S. Graphite™ Business Cash Unlimited Card Account (“Card Account”) who make $250,000 in eligible purchases in a calendar year (“$250,000 Purchase Requirement”) are eligible to receive up to $2,400 in statement credits on their Graphite™ Business Cash Unlimited Card Account in the following calendar year when they use their Card Account to pay for American Express One AP® fees between January 1 and December 31 of the following calendar year (“Active Credit Window”). A Card Account that has satisfied the $250,000 Purchase Requirement is considered a “Qualified Card Account”. Card Members must separately request and be approved for a One AP account in order to use the service, and the Company that is responsible for One AP fees must be the same as the Company associated with the Card Account.
An eligible Card Member’s One AP statement credits will be applied to their Card Account billing statement against any (i) then-applicable platform access fees, (ii) applicable transaction fees associated with their One AP usage, and/or (iii) applicable taxes, in each case as charged to the Qualified Card Account. The platform access fee will automatically renew each month, unless the service is cancelled or all additional payment method are deactivated, as applicable. To learn more about One AP’s cancellation deadlines and requirements, please see the One AP terms and conditions below. One AP bills in arrears, meaning in order to utilize the full $2,400 One AP Credit in any Active Credit Window, you may need to incur One AP fees charged to your Qualified Card Account in December of the year in which you first meet the $250,000 Purchase Requirement. Each Card Account may only earn a total of $2,400 in credits per calendar year. Enrollment in the statement credit on your American Express Online Account is not required for the One AP Credit; however, you must request and be approved for a One AP account, and the Qualified Card Account must be the account to which your One AP fees are billed. If you need to change the Card being billed, you must call 1-844-358-4025. See https://www.americanexpress.com/oneap-getstarted to learn more and find out how to request a One AP account. American Express One AP® ACH may not be available to all customers.
Eligible purchases to meet the $250,000 Purchase Requirement are purchases for goods and services minus returns and other credits. Eligible purchases do NOT include fees or interest charges, cash advances, purchases of travelers checks, purchases or reloading of prepaid cards, purchases of gift cards, person-to-person payments, or other cash equivalents. Non-card transactions (check, ACH) are not eligible purchases. Eligible purchases made by any Employee Card Members on the Graphite™ Business Cash Unlimited Card Account will contribute to the $250,000 Purchase Requirement. Card Members can track their progress towards the current year $250,000 Purchase Requirement in the Benefits tab of their online Card Account and in the American Express App. Your status tracker will reflect your posted transactions, net of returns, up to the $250,000 mark.
Statement credits are typically reflected on your Card Account within a few days of the corresponding charge posting; however, it may take 90 days after an eligible transaction is charged to the Card Account for the statement credits to be reflected on your Card Account. Statement credits may not be received or may be reversed if the One AP fee is refunded. If the Card Account is cancelled or past due, it may not qualify to receive a statement credit. If American Express does not receive information that identifies your transaction as eligible, you will not receive the statement credits. For example, your transaction will not be eligible if One AP fees are billed to a card other than your Qualified Card Account. If American Express, in its sole discretion, determines that you have engaged in or intend to engage in any manner of abuse, misuse, or gaming in connection with this benefit, American Express will not have an obligation to provide, and may reverse, any statement credits provided to you. If a charge for an eligible purchase is included in a Pay Over Time balance on your Card Account, the statement credit associated with that charge may not be applied to that Pay Over Time balance. Instead, the statement credit may be applied to your Pay In Full balance.
