American Express Platinum Card vs. Gold Annual Fees

The Gold Card has a $325 annual fee, and its shopping, dining, and travel benefits can add up to over $500 in yearly statement credits.6 The Platinum’s annual fee is higher at $895, yet its mix of travel, shopping, dining, wellness, and entertainment perks can be worth more than $3,500 depending on how you use them.7 In both cases, the value you get from the benefits can easily outweigh the cost of the card.
