Platinum Membership Rewards Points
Platinum Card Members have access to elevated Membership Rewards® points, which allow you to turn your eligible travel flights and hotel purchases into future flights and stays.
Here’s how Membership Rewards points work on the Platinum Card:
- With the Platinum Card, you can earn 5X Membership Rewards points, when you book prepaid hotels and flights booked through Amex Travel on up to $500,000 on these purchases per calendar year.
- Amex Travel offers convenience when searching for flights and accommodations, allowing you to easily find premium properties from the Fine Hotels & Resorts collection and hotel stays from The Hotel Collection. You can also book flights, making it easy to make travel arrangements.
- The points that you earn can be applied to future bookings. You can also opt to use your points to cover eligible charges, redeem them for gift cards or statement credits, and more.

For instance, let’s say that when booking the Four Seasons Hotel San Francisco, you use your Platinum Card to purchase flights and book your hotel stay through Amex Travel. - Access to Fine Hotels + Resorts
With Platinum membership, you can also enjoy access to Fine Hotels + Resorts and The Hotel Collection- Fine Hotels + Resorts
The Fine Hotels + Resorts program is a Card Member benefit that offers perks at over 1,800 luxury hotels and resorts around the world. When you book Fine Hotels + Resorts through American Express Travel®, you can receive access to a suite of benefits like daily breakfast for two, a $100 credit to use towards eligible charges to use during your stay [1], guaranteed 4PM check-out and more.2

The Hotel Collection is a group of over 1,300 hotels curated by American Express. Eligible Card Members must book a minimum of a two-night stay at a Hotel Collection property through Amex TravelTM to receive benefits , such as a $100 credit to spend on eligible charges (which vary by property), and room upgrades [3] when available at check-in.4

Save by getting up to $300 back in statement credits semi-annually (for up to a total of $600 in statement credits per calendar year) on prepaid Fine Hotels + Resorts® or The Hotel Collection bookings through American Express Travel when you pay with the Platinum Card.5 - $200 Airline Fee Credit
Select one qualifying airline and then receive up to $200 in statement credits per calendar year when incidental fees, such as checked bags and in-flight refreshments, are charged by the airline to your Platinum Card® Account.6 [7]

Platinum Card Members may also receive either a statement credit every 4 years after they apply for Global Entry ($120) or a statement credit every 4.5 years after they apply for a five-year membership for TSA PreCheck® (up to $85 through a TSA PreCheck official enrollment provider) and pay for the application fee with their Platinum Card. Lounge access is available on select Amex Cards. The American Express Platinum Card®, for example, gives Card Members access to the Global Lounge Collection®. With over 1,550 airport lounges, you can enjoy access to Centurion Lounges, 10 complimentary Delta Sky Club visits when flying an eligible Delta flight, Priority Pass Select membership (enrollment required), and other select partner lounges.9
- $200 Uber Cash
Whether you’re landing at the airport and ordering your Uber, or ordering in at your hotel with Uber Eats, Platinum Card Members can receive $15 in Uber Cash each month, plus a $20 in December. That’s up to $200 in Uber Case per year to use on orders and rides in the U.S after you add the Platinum Card to your Uber account and select Amex Card for your transaction.11 - $120 Uber One Credit
Receive up to $120 in statement credits each calendar year after you purchase an auto-renewing Uber One membership with your Platinum Card. Terms apply.12 - CLEAR® Plus Credit
Skip the lines and get through security faster with CLEAR®. This digital identity verification service uses your unique facial attributes to help you move quickly through security lanes at select airports, stadiums, and entertainment venues nationwide. When you pay for your annual CLEAR Plus membership with your Platinum Card®, you can receive up to $209 in statement credits per calendar year. Membership must be charged to your Platinum Card and is subject to auto-renewal.13 - Trip Protection
Even the most thoughtful itineraries can hit a road bump. With your Platinum Card, trip protection covers you for cancellations or interruptions. If a round-trip is paid for entirely with your Eligible Card and a covered reason cancels or interrupts your trip, Trip Cancellation and Interruption Insurance can help reimburse the non-refundable travel expenses purchased with the same Eligible Card, up to $10,000 per trip and up to $20,000 per Eligible Card per 12 consecutive month period. Despite our best efforts, sometimes things happen that are out of our control. If you purchase a round trip entirely with your Eligible Card and a covered reason cancels or interrupts your trip, Trip Cancellation and Interruption Insurance can help reimburse your non-refundable expenses purchased with the same Eligible Card, up to $10,000 per trip and up to $20,000 per Eligible Card per 12 consecutive month period. Amex Platinum Marriott benefits include room upgrades when available and the option to earn Marriott Bonvoy® points on eligible stays. You’ll also earn 5X Membership Rewards points if you book a prepaid Fine Hotels + Resorts® or The Hotel Collection stay at Marriott Bonvoy properties through Amex Travel. If enrolled, you can enjoy complimentary Marriott Bonvoy Gold Elite Status after linking your Marriott Bonvoy account. You will need to add your Marriott Bonvoy member number to the reservation.23
Those types of fees can usually include checked bags and in-flight refreshments but not seat upgrades. Typically, you cannot use the Amex Platinum airline credit for seat selection since the Amex Platinum airline fee credit applies to incidental fees charged by your selected airline.24
