Credits and extras. Points are only part of the equation. Card Members can also get:
- $120 Dining Credit: Earn up to $10 in statement credits monthly when you pay with the American Express® Gold Card at Grubhub, The Cheesecake Factory, Goldbelly, Wine.com, Milk Bar and select Shake Shack locations. Enrollment required.
- $120 in Uber Cash: Gold Card Members will automatically get $10 in Uber Cash every month, up to $120 a year, after adding their Card to their Uber account. Uber Cash can be spent on orders with Uber Eats or rides with Uber in the U.S., your choice.
- $100 Hotel Credit: If you love a good getaway, don’t overlook the hotel credit available when booking rooms at participating “Hotel Collection” properties through American Express Travel. If you stay for two consecutive nights, you can earn a $100 credit that can be spent on any qualifying dining, spa, or resort activity. Qualifying activities vary by property.
How to Use Uber Cash
What Is Uber Cash?
Uber Cash is a payment option that can be used to pay for Uber Eats and Rides in the U.S.
How Does Uber Cash work?
If you add an American Express Rose Gold or Gold Card to your Uber account, $10 in Uber Cash will be deposited into your Uber account every month. Otherwise, you can purchase Uber Cash within the Uber app or redeem Uber Cash through gift cards. You can check your Uber Cash balance by choosing “Wallet” from the menu in the Uber app. Uber Cash doesn’t expire, and orders purchased with Uber Cash cost the same as using any other payment method.
How to Use Uber Cash
Using Uber Cash is fairly straightforward:
- Log into your Uber app and create an order.
- On the checkout screen, select “Uber Cash” as your payment method.
- Review and place your order.
If you don’t have enough Uber Cash to cover the cost of your purchase, you can cover the remainder with your default payment method.
Beyond rewards and credits, either color of Amex Gold offers various extra benefits, including:
- Choose How You Pay. Enjoy the flexibility to pay in full each month, carry a balance with interest, or use Plan It® to split up large purchases into monthly payments with a fixed fee, up to your Pay Over Time limit, when eligible. - Send & Split®: Once you enroll an eligible Card in Send & Split – which you do inside the mobile American Express® App – you’ll have access to two distinct features: Amex Send®, which lets you send money to any other Venmo or PayPal user, and Amex Split®, which lets you split your Card purchases with any other Venmo or PayPal user(s) and get paid back directly to your Card as a statement credit.
