Financial Hardship

At American Express, we strive to stand behind our customers in all situations. If you are experiencing challenging circumstances that are causing financial stress, our relationship with you can help you find a solution for your outstanding balance(s) with us.

If you find yourself struggling financially, please contact us as soon as possible. By working together, we may be able to offer some of the following:

• We may take you through an income and expenditure form to help you identify your priority expenditure and find the most affordable solution for you.
• We may be able to offer a payment plan that could help you better manage your situation.
• Dependent on your circumstances, our payment plans could:
          - Temporarily lower your interest rate
          - Reduce your monthly payment
          - Prevent your account from going further overdue if you abide by the T&Cs of the plan

Please be aware that enrolment into any payment plan is subject to eligibility criteria and conditions of cooperation and could also have negative effects upon your credit score.

If you would like more information on credit scores, please click here. Alternatively, please contact Experian, Equifax or CallCredit to discuss.

If you would like to discuss your situation with us, please contact us via one of the following channels.
