Why didn’t my charge appear in Pending Transactions?

Charges may not appear as ‘pending’ if they’re: 

  • Made in a foreign currency
  • Made using Chip and PIN & Contactless payments
  • A Direct Debit (such as a phone bill)
  • Fees & Charges
  • Refunds & Bill Payments
  • Not yet submitted to American Express by the Merchant you spent at.
