What are Membership Rewards® points?
Every time you spend on your American Express® Corporate Card, you can earn Membership Rewards points. These points are our way of saying ‘thank you’ and can be redeemed on a range of company or individual benefits - from shopping online, donating to charities or even purchasing Gift Cards for employees.
The American Express® Corporate Platinum Card is auto-enrolled into the Membership Rewards Programme.
For the American Express® Corporate Gold Card and the American Express® Corporate Green Card it is required to enrol into the Membership Rewards Programme and it costs £36 a year (incl. VAT) for each Card enrolled.
Earn 1 Membership Rewards point for every £1 of eligible spend on your Card.

About The Programme
Membership Rewards® is a loyalty programme where Cardmembers are rewarded for eligible spending on their American Express® Cards by earning points with almost every transaction.
You can use your points on your next getaway, to dine out with friends, or to pay for your morning coffee. Provided you remain in compliance with the T&Cs and enrolled in the Membership Rewards programme, your points will not expire.
The Membership Rewards® programme is available on selected American Express Cards. To find out which Cards are eligible for the programme or to enrol, please call the American Express® Membership Rewards® team for free at the number on the back of your Card.
Corporate Cardmembers' ability to enrol in the Membership Rewards® Programme will be subject to their Company being enrolled in the Corporate Membership Rewards Programme.
To enrol in a Corporate Membership Rewards programme, please call Customer Service (the number on the back of your Card), who will ensure you're enrolled into your appropriate, chosen programme.
Customer Service should also be contacted in the event where there's a change in Programme Adminstrator or if you choose to cease your participation in the programme.
Note:
- Individual Membership Rewards programme Corporate Green or Corporate Gold Cardmembers must enrol in Membership Rewards individually by phoning the number on the back of their Card. Corporate Platinum Cardmembers are automatically enrolled in Membership Rewards.
- Corporate Membership Rewards Cardmembers can only be enrolled by the Programme Administrator, who can enroll Cardmembers by calling the number on the back of their Card for free or by using @ Work®. The Programme Administrator needs to be a Cardmember enrolled in the Corporate Membership Rewards programme for their company.
@ Work is the digital experience hub for Commercial Clients and provides Programme Administrators the capabilities they need to manage their company’s American Express Corporate Card programme online, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Corporate Membership Rewards Programme Administrators can use @ Work to track their Membership Rewards points balance for their company, enrol/unenrol employees and use the points to cover the cost of a purchase, all from @ Work.
It is possible for a Company to have a combination of (employee) Individual Corporate Membership Rewards and Corporate Membership Rewards on different Accounts (this provision can be mentioned during onboarding or later amended by Customer Service).
However, you cannot have both programmes on the same Card and points cannot be transferred between both programmes.
Not all American Express® Corporate Cards are eligible for enrolment. Only Corporate Green, Gold, and Platinum Cards are eligible for Individual and Corporate Membership Rewards programme enrollment. Eligibility is based on the Company’s authorisation to participate in the Membership Rewards programme.
For Individual Membership Rewards, employees holding a Corporate Green Card or Corporate Gold Card must enrol in Membership Rewards individually by phoning the number on the back of their Card. Corporate Platinum Cardmembers are automatically enrolled in Membership Rewards.
Cardmember enrolment under the Corporate Membership Rewards programme can be enrolled via application form or @ Work.
Not all American Express® Corporate Cards are eligible for enrolment. Only Corporate Green, Gold, and Platinum Cards are eligible for Individual and Corporate Membership Rewards programme enrolment. For both Individual Membership Rewards and Corporate Membership Rewards, the Cardmember pays the Membership Rewards annual fee of £36 (incl. VAT) for the Corporate Green Card and the Corporate Gold Card.
No enrolment fee applies to the Corporate Platinum Card.
- Individual Membership Rewards: Fee billed to one Card. If a Individual Membership Rewards Cardmember has more than one Corporate Card of same currency, it can be linked to pay MR annual fee once. If the Individual Membership Rewards Cardmember has an MR eligible Consumer or SBS Card, they can link their IMR Corporate Card with it and don't have to pay MR fee.
- Corporate Membership Rewards: Fees are billed to Corporate Membership Rewards Programme Administrator's Card OR the nominated ‘Card Fee’ Card. If the Corporate Membership Rewards programme is cancelled, the enrolment fee will be auto refunded pro-rata.
Unlike many other programmes, your Membership Rewards points have no expiration date.
However, please remember that:
- If you end your Card Account agreement and there are no other Linked Cards on your points Account, you will have 30 days from the date you request this to redeem your points. If you do not redeem your points within 30 days, they will be forfeited.
- If we cancel or end your Card Account in accordance with the Card Account agreement, you will lose the points that you have earned but not yet redeemed.
- If you miss a monthly payment on your Card Account, the points that you have earned in the previous month will be forfeited.
Please review the T&Cs for all situations where Membership Rewards points may be lost.
You should contact Customer Service (number on the back of your Card) to cancel your enrolment in the Membership Rewards programme.

About Earning Points
You earn Membership Rewards points for every full pound of eligible, approved spend on your Card. Simply use your American Express® Card for your everyday purchases and watch the points add up.
Please note that the following are not eligible spend, so will not earn Membership Rewards points:
- Interest;
- All fees (including annual Membership fees and default fees);
- Balance transfers;
- Cash advances (including transactions treated as cash);
- Loading of pre paid cards;
- American Express Travellers Cheque purchases;
- Foreign exchange transactions; and
- Any amounts that are subsequently credited to your Card Account by way of refunds or other types of credits

If you have not yet registered for American Express Online Services and would like to view your up to date balance and manage your Account online, click here to enrol. If you have already registered for Online Services, just log in to see your points balance, showing the number of points you have accumulated and the points you have redeemed. For detailed points transactions, go to 'My Points' at the top of the page.
Corporate Membership Rewards Programme Adminstrators can also check their points balance via @ Work.
It can take 24-48 hours after the charge has appeared on your Account for your Membership Rewards points balance to update accordingly. As a charge may not appear on your account the same day the transaction took place, you may wish to monitor your spend activity online.
The end date of your Membership Rewards statement is usually 4 to 6 days earlier than the end date of your Card statement. So, if you have earned points during this 4 to 6 day period, they will be reflected in your next Membership Rewards statement. If you are enrolled in American Express Online Services, you can log in at any time to see your up to date balance online.
About Redeeming Points
Redeeming is easy. Just follow these simple steps:
If you're enrolled in Online Services, log in to your Membership Rewards Account. You may then search for and select your rewards. If you have not registered for Online Services, click here to enrol today. Alternatively, if you do not have online access or would prefer to discuss and redeem your reward over the telephone, you can call the number on the back of your Card.
Note: For the Corporate Membership Rewards programme, only Programme Adminstrators can redeem points. Programme Adminstrators can also access Select & Redeem and American Express Travel Online redemption channels via @ Work.
Individual Corporate Membership Rewards: All Cardmembers enrolled in the Membership Rewards programme (including employees).
Corporate Membership Rewards: Only the Programme Administrator can redeem points.

If you have a partner loyalty account, it is quick and easy to go online and link the account details to your Membership Rewards® Account. Alternatively, you can call Customer Service for free by calling the number on the back of your Card to transfer your points or link your details to your Membership Rewards Account. You can link accounts anytime and there is no limit to the number of partner programmes you can link with. Please allow up to 14 days for us to verify your Account. If you're not enrolled in Online Services, enrol online or call the number on the back of your Card and we'll process your request for you.
No, this is not possible. Membership Rewards points can only be transferred into an Account in your name.
