To take advantage of the credits, simply book your getaway through The Platinum Concierge or American Express Travel Online.
You will receive the Travel Credit each membership year. Issuance of Travel Credit is 5 working days after card approval of The Platinum Card and payment of the annual fee, and upon each annual fee renewal date.

Does my Travel Credit expire?
Yes. Your Travel Credit must be redeemed within the same anniversary year and cannot be carried forward. To check the expiration date of your Travel Credit if you have not already redeemed it, please visit American Express Travel Online and see the Travel Credit link at the top right hand side of the page.
Why doesn’t my Travel Credit show at the online checkout?
There can be a few reasons why your Travel Credit isn’t showing. And it doesn’t necessarily mean you’re ineligible. Here are some helpful tips:
- Are you logged in at American Express Travel Online?
- Have you logged in and selected the Account/Card with the Travel Credit benefit?
- Have you used your Travel Credit already?
- If yes, you’re not entitled until your next anniversary year.Are you on the Australian American Express Travel site and not the US site?
- Are you the Primary Card account holder? Additional Card Members are not eligible to view/redeem the Travel Credit.
Is your account in good standing?

I have more than one Travel Credit? Can I use all for a single booking?
No, you can only use one Travel Credit per booking.
Can I use my Travel Credit to purchase travel for my family and friends?
Yes, you can use your Travel Credit to book travel for other people, provided the tickets are not for resale, promotional or commercial use.
I would like to cancel a booking made on American Express Travel. Will the Travel Credit I used for this booking be refunded?
Your Travel Credit is available for single redemption only and will not be refunded in cash or credit if your booking is cancelled.
Only the amount of the booking paid with your American Express Card will be refunded to your Card. Refunds for your booking are subject to supplier cancellation policies and any amount refunded is after deducting the supplier fees.

- New Basic Platinum Members who have successfully applied for the Platinum Card® on or after 1 July 2019 are eligible for one Travel Credit of up to S$800, 5 working days after card approval of The Platinum Card and payment of the annual fee, and upon each annual fee renewal date.
- Existing Basic Platinum Members will receive an increased Travel Credit of up to S$800 on the terms stated herein upon each annual fee renewal occurring after 30 July 2018.
- Existing Basic Platinum Members who were eligible for one Travel Rebate Credit of S$400 per year on the terms as stated in the relevant voucher and who have fully paid their annual fee renewal between 1 January 2018 to 30 July 2018 would have received an additional Travel Credit of S$400 in the form of an Air Travel Credit on the terms as stated herein.
- The Travel Credit of up to S$800 per year comprises a credit of S$400 for a Qualifying Booking for air travel (“Air Travel Credit”) and a credit of S$400 for a Qualifying Booking for overseas tours, cruises or hotel bookings (“Lodging Credit”).
- A “Qualifying Booking” in respect of the Lodging Credit refers to bookings:
(i) for eligible overseas tours, cruises or hotels that are made through The Platinum Concierge or American Express Travel Online, but excludes the cost of any air travel. Please contact The Platinum Concierge for more information on eligible tours, cruises or hotels; (ii) with a stay date or travel by date of 6 months from the date of booking; (iii) with a minimum spend of S$400 (excluding taxes) for a single booking; and (iv) that are fully paid for using The Platinum Card®. - A “Qualifying Booking” in respect of the Air Travel Credit refers to bookings:
(ii) for eligible air travel bookings that are made through The Platinum Concierge or American Express Travel Online, but excludes the cost of any overseas tours, cruises or hotel stays. Please contact The Platinum Concierge for more information on eligible air travel bookings; (iii) with a travel by date of 6 months from the date of booking; (iv) with a minimum spend of S$400 (excluding taxes) for a single booking; and (v) that are fully paid for using The Platinum Card. - The Travel Credit is valid only up to the relevant expiry date stated in the American Express Travel Online website.
- To redeem the Travel Credit, a Platinum Member must use the Air Travel Credit and/or Lodging Credit voucher(s) at the time of making the Qualifying Booking through The Platinum Concierge or through American Express Travel Online website. Each Air Travel Credit and Lodging Credit voucher may only be redeemed once on a Platinum Card Account for a Qualifying Booking by Basic Platinum Member. For the avoidance of doubt, the Air Travel Credit and Lodging Credit must be redeemed independently of each other on separate Qualifying Bookings.
- To be eligible for this benefit, the Platinum Card Account(s) must be not cancelled for any reason, full annual fee for the Platinum Card must be paid for the relevant year of Card Membership, be in good standing and not past due.
- The Lodging Credit and/or the Air Travel Credit will be applied against the cost of the relevant Qualifying Booking at the date of the relevant transaction and redemption of the Travel Credit.
- Refunds and changes to your overseas tours, cruises or hotel stays and/or air travel booking under a Qualifying Booking may be permitted based on supplier terms and conditions. The amount refunded will be the value of the booking, less supplier fees and the relevant Travel Credit contributed by American Express. There is no refund on the relevant Travel Credit. This means that the relevant Travel Credit for your Card Membership year will be forfeited if you cancel your Qualifying Booking. Booking amendment fees may apply.
- The Travel Credit cannot be sold, transferred, combined, or exchanged for cash or cash equivalents, in-kind or other services. For the avoidance of doubt, any sale or transfer of the Travel Credit will be void. Membership Rewards points will not be earned on the Travel Credit.
- The Travel Credit cannot be used in conjunction with any other promotions, offers or discounts unless stated otherwise by American Express.
- American Express is not liable for replacing damaged or lost vouchers for the Travel Credit. In the event of any disputes, the decision of American Express International Inc. shall be final.
