Can I withdraw cash using my American Express® Card?
Yes, you may be able to withdraw cash using your American Express® Credit Card if you are eligible. You can withdraw from an eligible ATM, but there are a few important things to know:
Fees:
A cash advance fee applies to each withdrawal.
The fee is 3% of the amount withdrawn or £3, whichever is greater. Some ATMs add a surcharge for use of the machine.
International cash withdrawals are charged a foreign exchange fee. Refer the Cardmember to the terms and conditions for their Card or to their monthly billing statement for the foreign exchange fee.
We charge fees to provide a variety of services and features across all our products, some of which rely on our partnerships with other financial institutions. Our fees are in line with those of other credit card providers.
Interest:
Cash withdrawals begin accruing interest at the cash advance rate, which may be higher than your standard rate. You can find the applicable rate on your statement.
Limits:
Cash limit – This is the total amount of cash you can accumulate over time. It is usually around 20% of your overall credit limit.
Withdrawal limit – This is the maximum you can withdraw in a 30-day period.
Where can you find your Available Cash Limit?
- If you are eligible and have previously withdrawn cash, your statement will display your Available Cash Limit.
- If you are eligible but haven’t withdrawn cash before, your statement will not yet show an Available Cash Limit.
- If you are not eligible for cash withdrawals, this limit will not appear on your statement at all.
Please check your latest statement to confirm your eligibility and limits.
