Can I apply for any American Express Card to be my Additional Card?
For most American Express Accounts, you can only apply for the same Additional Card as your basic Card Account (excluding The Platinum Card). For example, if you hold The Platinum Edge Credit Card, you can only apply for Platinum Edge Additional Cards.
Who is responsible for the spend (and payment of) my Additional Cards?
The basic Card Member is liable for payment of all spend made by Additional Card Members.
Can my Additional Card Members earn points?
All points earned from the spend made by Additional Card Members will be directly credited to the basic Card Member’s account (provided you are enrolled in a rewards program). Both the basic and Additional Card Members will earn points at the same rate.
How can I check the balance of an Additional Card?
You can check the balance of your Additional Cards anytime via your online Account, your monthly statement, or by calling the number on the back of your Card. All spend made by Additional Card Members will be clearly stated on your statement and online Account.
Can my Additional Card Members register for Amex Offers?
Your Additional Card Members can save Amex Offers to their Card by logging into their Online Account. Any credit received from redeeming Amex Offers will be directly credited to the basic Card Member’s Account.
How many Additional Card Members can I have?
You can add up to 4 Additional Cards to your Account.
How will my Additional Card Members receive their Card?
The Additional Card will be delivered to the basic Card Member via post, within 3-5 business days of the application being approved.
Do my Additional Card Members need to activate their Card?
Once received, Additional Card Members need to activate their Card by creating their own unique login at americanexpress.com.au/register and register for Online Services to be able to manage their Card (online or via the Amex App) and access Amex Offers.
