Eligible American Express Shop Small Merchant Members are automatically enrolled in the Promotion Each American Express transaction processed by the Eligible Entrant during the Promotion Period is equivalent to one (1) entry for the Promotion. Shop Small is a nationwide movement dedicated to support the thousands of small businesses in Australia, who are the backbone of our community and economy. The movement brings together support from the business community, governments and consumers encouraging them to support small businesses in their communities.
What is the AU Shop Small Promotion for Merchants?

From 1 – 30 November 2023, for every American Express transaction processed instore or online at your business, you will receive an entry into a draw to win one of ten $10,000 Shop Small Business Grants each. Only available to eligible Shop Small Merchant Members.
Am I automatically entered if I am an Eligible Merchant?
Shop Small businesses in Australia that meets the criteria are automatically enrolled in the Promotion.
Do I have the chance to win multiple prizes?
Each Eligible Entrant is eligible to win a maximum of one (1) prize only unless the Eligible Entrant is based in the state of South Australia, in which case such restriction will not apply.
Are entries based on transaction numbers?
Each American Express transaction processed by the Eligible Entrant during the Promotion Period is equivalent to one (1) entry for the Promotion. i.e. 100 processed transactions is 100 entries.
How many prizes are there to be won for Merchants? There are ten (10) prizes to be won in total (or otherwise as determined by American Express at the American Express’s sole discretion) each of which is a cash grant valued at AUD$10,000. The total prize pool is valued at AUD$100,000.
Is the part of the prize exchangeable for any other prizes?
No part of the prize is exchangeable or redeemable for any other prize or transferable, unless otherwise specified in writing by the Promoter. Once the prize has been awarded to the winning entrant, American Express shall not be liable for any loss or failure to utilize the prize.
When will the draw take place?
The draw for the Promotion will take place at Engage Australia, 24 Washpool Crescent, Woongarrah NSW 2259, Australia at 2:30pm (AEDT) on Wednesday, 24 January 2024 in the presence of an independent scrutineer.
How will I claim the prize if I win?
American Express will provide instructions via email to the Winners by the date above on how to claim the prize. Each Winner is required to confirm their acceptance of and claim the prize in writing in accordance with the Promoter’s instructions by 15 February 2024.
Will American Express take responsibility for tax implications?
American Express accepts no responsibility for any tax implications and the Winners must seek their own independent financial advice regarding the tax implications relating to the prize or acceptance of the prize.
What can I do to attract more customers?
You can order POP to display in their storefronts to market to customers that the business welcome American Express Cards which can be ordered on the Shop Small Website https://www.amexpop.com/
