Airelles Chateau de Versailles, Le Grand Controle
The Royal Feast dinner is an immersive recreation of an 18th century banquet featuring updated versions of dishes beloved by Louis XIV.
The 11 rooms and two suites are named for historical figures, and are decorated with 17th and 18th-century furnishings and art. Each room is unique but expect opulent details such as fireplaces and herringbone parquet floors, as well as textiles recreated from Versailles’ archives. The elegant bathrooms are equally period-appropriate with features such as marble checkerboard floors.
The on-site Ducasse au Château de Versailles, Le Grand Contrôle, helmed by Alain Ducasse, treats every meal as a royal banquet. Inspired by Louis XIV, breakfast is a mix of sweet and savory fare to be enjoyed with views of the Orangerie gardens. Lunch is a feast of classic French dishes, while afternoon tea is in honor of Marie Antoinette.
The royal treatment extends to the subterranean Valmont spa, which is decorated with marble floors and hand-painted frescoes. Enjoy a lavish Sun King treatment or take a dip in the swimming pool. Break a sweat in the fitness center, which features TechnoGym equipment, or request a personal coach for a training session.
Enjoy an after-hours guided tour of the Palace of Versailles as well as an early tour of the Trianon Estate before it opens to the public. Make time to explore the palace’s Grand Canal, or enjoy a private concert at the Royal Opera at Versailles.
