How are the limits and controls I set on my Employee Card different than limits and controls I set for my Virtual Card?
An Employee Card’s controls are freezing the card, setting the spending limit and setting alerts for the categories of spending. Spending limits on Employee Cards are set for the billing cycle. Changes to existing Employee Card limits reflect past spending for that billing period. In terms of billing, Employee Card transactions are billed under the Employee Card number tied to the associated Business Card account.
In contrast, the controls for Virtual Cards include setting the spending limit, reset frequency (options include: no reset, weekly, biweekly, or monthly), start date, and active until date. When you change the spending limit on a Virtual Card, spend on the Card resets. For example, you have a spending limit of $500 per month and you have spent $400 so far this month. If you were to change your spending limit to $1000, then you can spend up to $1000 in additional charges ($1400 total) in that same month. Virtual Card transactions will be billed under the associated Business Card account.
