FAQs
What is American Express Business Blueprint™?
Business Blueprint is a free cash flow management platform, designed exclusively for small businesses, that shows a snapshot of your select American Express business products and linked external accounts on a single dashboard. You’ll also gain access to personalized insights and customized charts that can help drive more informed decisions for your business.
What is American Express® Business Line of Credit?
An American Express® Business Line of Credit is a line of credit extended to a business which has first applied for and been approved. Once approved, the business is assigned a specific line amount which is subject to change. The business has flexible access to the funds and can draw (“take a loan”) from the line as often as needed up to the available line amount.
Each draw is a separate installment loan. The borrower is required to make monthly payments, each of which includes a loan fee. After the borrower repays an outstanding balance, the borrower may see the line replenish, subject to ongoing review of the overall financial profile of the borrower and the borrower’s business, including history with American Express and other financial institutions, credit history, and other factors.
How do I open a Business Checking account?
You can apply for an American Express® Business Checking account online in as little as 10 minutes. You’ll need to answer a few basic questions about your business including your industry, revenue, and how you plan to use your online business checking account, and you will need to provide an Employer Identification Number (EIN) or Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN) and documentation to prove you are a registered business. If you’re approved for an account, you’ll be able to link an existing bank account, deposit funds, and begin making transactions.

How do I sign up for Business Blueprint, and is there a cost?
If you have American Express credentials (user ID and password), you can use these to sign up for and access Business Blueprint. If you don’t have American Express credentials, you’ll need to follow the online sign-up and fill out a simple form. There is no application processing fee, no fee to access or use the Business Blueprint platform, and no fee to receive cash flow insights from the platform. Other American Express products on the Business Blueprint platform have their own application processes, fees, and eligibility requirements.
Can I still access my Kabbage account?
To access your account, you will need to create an American Express User ID and password. To do this, please sign in using the email address and password that was associated with your Kabbage account, then follow the prompts.
Why do I need to connect my business bank account?
We use the connection to your business bank account to determine your eligibility for credit. We ask that you connect your business bank account(s) online so we can assess your business performance information quickly and in an automated way, saving you the hassle of preparing financial statements.
How quickly can I get my loan funds?
Once an American Express® Business Line of Credit application is completed and approved, you will select your loan amount and loan terms, sign the loan agreement, and funds will be deposited into the verified business bank account you designated for disbursement. Funds may take 1 to 3 business days to process and post, depending on your bank.

American Express® Business Line of Credit
American Express® Business Line of Credit offers access to a commercial line of credit ranging from $2,000 to $250,000, although some customers may have access to a larger line of credit. Decisions regarding the line of credit amount, loan fees and available installment term options are based on a review of your and your business’s overall financial profile, which may include your credit history, your relationship with American Express and other financial institutions, and other factors. The line of credit amount, loan fees, and installment term options are each subject to review and may change for future loan activity. A review of the line of credit may result in a suspension at any time, accompanied with or without a closure of the line of credit. Not all customers will be eligible for the lowest loan fees or all installment options, and not all industries are eligible. All loans are subject to credit approval, are secured by assets of the borrower, require a personal guarantee, and may be subject to late fees. Loans are issued by American Express National Bank.
Each draw on the line of credit results in a separate installment loan with monthly installments which may include 6, 12, 18, or 24 months, subject to eligibility. When you request a loan, you will be presented with the available installment option(s) and the monthly loan fee for that loan amount. The monthly loan fee is calculated as a percentage of the original principal amount of the loan and is charged monthly during the term of the loan along with a portion of the principal. Currently, the monthly loan fees may range from [0.55% to 1.55%] of the original principal amount, but the loan fee offered to you for future loans may change at any time. You will be charged monthly loan fees only for months in which the loan has an outstanding balance.
If you repay the total principal of a loan early, you will not be required to pay the loan fees that have not posted for subsequent months. American Express may offer promotions and may reduce or waive loan fees from time to time.
