Membership Rewards® points help you get even more from your spending.
From January 1, 2022 to December 31, 2023, whether you shop online or in a store at the following participating merchants, with your American Express® Platinum Credit Card, you’ll earn double Membership Rewards points*. That means you can earn up to six points for every HK$1 you spend with your Card, all year long.

*Each Eligible Card Account can earn up to an extra 30,000 Membership Rewards points in total per calendar month during the promotional period at the participating merchants. The spending cap of American Express Platinum Credit Card Membership Rewards Program applies.

- Earn Double Points (as defined in clause 5 of these Terms and Conditions) at Participating Merchants (“Offer”) is valid from January 1, 2022 until December 31, 2023, both dates inclusive (“Promotion Period”).
- Offer is valid for spending at the physical stores in Hong Kong, Hong Kong official websites and/or mobile applications (if applicable) of the following Participating Merchants (“Participating Merchants”) within the Promotion Period:

- Offer is only applicable to Basic and Supplementary Cards of the American Express® Platinum Credit Card issued by American Express International, Inc. (“American Express”) in Hong Kong (“Eligible Card”, such holders “Eligible Cardmembers”).
- To enjoy the Offer, Cardmember must settle the full payment with the Eligible Card within the Promotion Period at Participating Merchants (“Eligible Transactions”).
- Earn Double Points means for every HK$1 spent with Eligible Card at the respective Participating Merchants during the Promotion Period, Cardmember will earn:
1) extra 3 Membership Rewards® points if Eligible Card account has not reached the cap of American Express Platinum Credit Card Membership Rewards Program (“Program”) during the Promotion Period (i.e. 3 points from the Program + extra 3 points from this Offer = total 6 points), or
2) extra 1 Membership Rewards point if Eligible Card account reaches the cap of American Express Platinum Credit Card Membership Rewards Program (i.e. accrued 360,000 Membership Rewards points under that Program during the Promotion Period) during the Promotion Period (i.e. 1 point from the Program + extra 1 point from this Offer = total 2 points). - Offer is capped at extra 30,000 Membership Rewards points in total per Eligible Card account for each calendar month (i.e. January 1 – 31, February 1 – 28, March 1 - 31 etc.) during the Promotion Period at the Participating Merchants. For the avoidance of doubt, each Basic Card account and any related Supplementary Card account(s) will be treated as one Eligible Card account, and accumulation of points for the Offer in each Eligible Card account shall also include the points earned by Eligible Cards’ Supplementary Cards issued under that Card account.

- Spending on gift vouchers is not applicable to the Offer. American Express reserves the right to claw back the extra Membership Rewards points offered to spending on gift vouchers from concerned Eligible Cardmember’s Account.
- Offer is not applicable to outlets and consignment products and counter or booth at places including but not limited to expositions, malls, department stores and supermarkets.
- Offer excludes transactions where Cardmembers do not spend on their Eligible Card directly online or in-app at Participating Merchants. Offer excludes transactions made through a third-party establishment or third-party payment processor including but not limited to PayPal.
- Extra Membership Rewards points earned from this Offer will be credited to Eligible Card account’s Membership Rewards Program Account within 8 weeks after an Eligible Transaction you made is posted to your Eligible Card account (“Redemption period”). Only Eligible Transactions for the purchase of goods and services that are posted within the Promotion Period will be counted for this program. Only those Eligible Cardmembers whose Eligible Card accounts are valid and in good standing throughout the Promotion Period and Redemption Period will be eligible for this Offer. Otherwise, American Express reserves the right not to offer any Offer to such Cardmembers without any prior notice.
- Adjustments will be made to the Membership Rewards points accrued in an Eligible Card account’s Membership Rewards Program Account if there are any credits posted to a linked Account including those arising from returned goods or services or from billing disputes without prior notice.
- All receipts / sales slips of Eligible Transactions should be shown for supporting when there is necessary.
- Participating Merchants are subject to change without prior notice.
- Each Participating Merchant is solely responsible for all products, services, consultations and advice offered to Cardmembers. American Express is not the provider of any of these products and/or services herein and makes no representation or warranty in relation to the same.
- American Express shall not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss), or for personal injury which is suffered or sustained, as a result of taking or using any of the products and/or services, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law.
