Even though Card Member information is anonymized and aggregated as part of this partnership, we offer a choice to opt-out if Card Members do not want their information included in the process at all.
If a Card Member would like Amex Advance to stop using their anonymized information, they can simply opt-out by:
Logging into their American Express Account, going to “Account Services” and clicking on the “Alerts, Communication & Privacy Preferences” tab, clicking on the "Privacy Preferences" link, and un-checking the box next to: DATA USAGE CHOICE FOR BUSINESS PARTNERS’ TARGET ADVERTISING.
A Card Member's opt-out will be effective for five (5) years, at which time American Express will notify them to renew their choice. We recognize people's attitudes towards targeted advertising continue to shift, since the advertising industry itself is evolving rapidly as a result of digital technology. Therefore, Card Members can re-visit their American Express Acocunt to update their privacy choices with us accordingly.
