How long will the application take?

This application will take around 10 to 15 minutes to complete if you have all your information at hand.

To protect your information this application will timeout after 30 minutes.

Upon completion of the application, you can submit and receive a notification within 60 seconds advising you whether or not you have been approved or whether we need more time to process your application. In some instances, we may need additional information from you.

What information do I need?

In order to complete the application you will need the following information at hand.

  • Existing American Express Card number (if applicable)
  • Your driver's licence details (if you have one)
  • Your current employer's details including full address and telephone number
  • Your annual salary and other annual income before tax
  • If you are self-employed, details of your accountant
  • Your monthly household expenses
  • Your monthly repayments for car, personal or other loans
  • Combined credit limit for Cards that are NOT held with American Express

Who can apply?

In order to apply for an American Express credit card, you must meet the following criteria

  • Be over 18 years of age
  • Have a good credit history and no payment defaults
  • Be a permanent resident or citizen of Australia or hold a current Business Long Stay Visa (Subclass 457)
  • Earn a personal gross (pre-tax) annual income of $65,000 or more
  • If Self Employed you have been trading for at least 18 months or 12 months if you hold an existing American Express issued Card

Any accompanying guests will be charged US$27 per visit, which will be automatically charged on the Cardmember's American Express Platinum Reserve Credit Card. Unused visits cannot be carried forward to the following year of membership. The number of complimentary visits will be reset to 2 per each 12-month period.
