JR Central will end new issuance and re-issuance applications for the "EX-IC Card" in Summer 2026. Additionally, they will end the "EX-IC Card" boarding service in Summer 2027 and combine this service with the "Transportation IC Card" boarding services. Ticketless boarding services using the "Transportation IC Cards" such as "Suica" and "ICOCA" will continue to be available.
