Frequently Asked Questions

A virtual Card has a 15-digit number, expiration date, security code, and associated billing postcode, just like a regular Corporate Card. Virtual Cards offer improved control, with the ability for the Corporate account holder to define the amount and time frame.

Virtual Cards issued through American Express Go have a declining balance that is pre-authorised for a defined amount and time frame. Dates and limits can be edited. The Corporate account will only be billed for the total amount authorised on the American Express virtual Card in the month the purchase was processed.

The virtual Card can be used anywhere American Express is accepted, up to the amount authorised. It must be used within the authorised dates, as any transactions outside this time frame, or transactions exceeding the remaining balance, will be declined.

American Express virtual Cards can be used wherever American Express is accepted. A 1% foreign transaction fee applies.

There is a one-time fee of $3 per user (which includes unlimited virtual Cards).
