Why didn’t my pending transaction show up?


Charges made in a foreign currency or using Contactless may not always appear in Pending Transactions. Also certain types of charges such as Direct Debits (phone bill etc.), Fees and charges, Refunds and Bill Payments will not appear in Pending Transactions.

Alternatively, it is possible the Merchant has not yet submitted the authorisation request to American Express. In this scenario, the charge may not show in Pending Transactions or in your account balance. When the Merchant does submit the charge to American Express, it will show in your account balance.
