United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) ICPD Beyond 2014 Secretariat
I am a seasoned multimedia writer/editor & social media/content strategist. My niches as a freelance writer are travel and small business, with a deep understanding (and affinity) for the luxury, real estate & popular culture markets. I have a knack for pithy, engaging storytelling, & crafting palatable text for both external & internal consumption. As the media landscape has evolved, so has my own creative strategy. Since 2009, I've been conceptualizing & implementing communication strategies for agencies, businesses, & individuals. I am currently consulting for the United Nations agency, UNFPA, as a communications specialist. (I enjoyed a similar consultancy two years prior.) During my present consultancy I am responsible for conceptualizing, developing, writing, producing and project managing an interactive narrative storytelling website around the dignity, human rights, health, sustainability data of the United Nations-led ICPD Global Review Report. I am also co-producing and project managing a youth and aging focused-initiative in partnership with National Geographic, titled, “Innovators for Humanity.” My experience as a columnist is vast. I pen a biannual column about top chefs around the world for the luxury magazines Accent and Forum. I previously wrote about small businesses for American Express Open and Business Insider, a weekly commercial real estate/small business column, "Making It," for The New York Times Local blog, a luxury real estate column which I created for Metro newspapers called "The Real Estate Voyeur." My experience is wide ranging yet connected, as my curiosity and compassion for people shines through great storytelling. I am confident crafting both hard-hitting and feature fluff narratives.
