The Business Platinum Card^TM from American Express^®

2. To receive Fine Hotels & Resorts program (FHR) amenities and rates, reservation must be booked at FHR negotiated rates and room categories through Platinum Card Travel Service from Amex Canada Inc. Payment must be made with an American Express^® Card in the Business Platinum Cardmember’s name. Room upgrade based on availability. Limit one amenity per room, per stay. Amenity restrictions vary by hotel, are subject to change, and cannot be redeemed for cash. Business Platinum Card members may book up to three (3) rooms inclusive of FHR rates and amenities and must accompany the party as a guest for which FHR reservations are made. In the event the Business Platinum Card member cancels the reservation(s), FHR rates and amenities will no longer apply to any remaining reservation(s). Back-to-back stays within a 24-hour period at a single FHR property are considered one stay.
   
   
3. As a charge card, the balance must always be paid in full each month in which no interest charges will apply. The interest free grace period is 28,29, 30 or 31 days from the closing date of the current statement to the closing date of the next statement depending on the number of days in the calendar month in which the closing date occurs. The number of interest free days varies based on a variety of factors, including when charges are posted to your account, whether your account is in good standing, and the closing date of your statement.
   
   
4. No pre-set spending limit does not mean unlimited spending. Your purchases are approved based on a variety of factors, including your credit record, account history and personal resources. Proof of resources and security may be required.
   
   
5. Account must be in good standing. Membership Rewards points will be earned by the Basic Cardmember on the amount of all purchases, less credits and adjustments. Interest, annual fees, other fees and charges for travellers cheques and foreign currencies are not purchases and do not qualify for Membership Rewards points.
   
   
6. Your account must be in good standing. You agree to only make recommendations to known friends or family members with whom you have a relationship and who have confirmed to you that they want to receive this communication. You must not send recommendations to people you do not know. The referral bonus will be awarded to you based on each eligible referral for which American Express receives an application that is subsequently approved, subject to all applicable terms and conditions. Due to the confidential nature of the approval process, you will not be notified when applications are approved or declined and any individual you have referred must agree to allow your account to be bonused upon approval or you will not receive the referral bonus. If our records indicate that any person you have referred has opted not to receive e-mails from us, your referral will not be sent and you will not receive the referral bonus offered as part of this program. Referral program varies by product and may be modified, suspended, cancelled or otherwise terminated without notice. Cannot be combined with any other offer. If the people that you refer have already applied for the product that you are referring without participating in this program, neither you nor they will be eligible for referral bonus offered as part of this program. Likewise, if the people you refer decide to apply for a Card through this referral program other than the one you have specifically recommended, the referral bonus for which you and they may be eligible will vary. Referral program participants should allow 8 to 10 weeks for the award of the referral bonus once program criteria have been met and must be enrolled in the corresponding loyalty program when the referral bonus is awarded. There is a minimum redemption requirement of 1,000 points for a $10 credit and redemptions must be made within 12 months after the travel purchase is posted to your account. 9. Membership Rewards points transfers must be made in increments of 100 points, with a minimum redemption requirement of 1,000 points for each transfer. 1,000 Membership Rewards points = 1,000 Aeroplan Miles. To access a Participating Lounge, Eligible Cardmember must show a valid, unexpired eligible American Express Card, airline ticket for travel on the same day and government issued photo identification in the name of the Eligible Cardmember. Eligible Cardmember’s spouse and 2 children under the age of 21, or one travel companion, may enter a participating lounge as complimentary guests. Guest must accompany eligible Cardmember; show a valid airline ticket for travel on the same day and government-issued photo identification to access a participating lounge. International Plaza Premium Lounges, maximum of 2 hour stay. Québec City's Jean Lesage International Airport VIP Lounge, eligible Cardmember’s children must be under the age of 18. House rules, terms and conditions of Participating Lounges apply. Use of Participating Lounges is subject to availability. Unless otherwise stated, Participating Lounge access cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer or benefit and is subject to change or cancellation at any time.
    
    
12. Holders of eligible American Express Cards (“Eligible Cardmembers”) may access participating Canadian and International airport lounges (“Participating Lounges”) on a complimentary basis. 13. Business Platinum Card member must be traveling. Name on ticket must match name on the Business Platinum Card. Special industry reduced revenue tickets are not eligible with Delta and American Airlines. The Business Platinum Card member must be 18 years of age to access American Airlines Admirals Club^® Lounges and 21 years of age to access other airport club lounges without a parent or guardian. The Business Platinum Card member’s spouse and children under the age of 21 or up to two companions may enter the airport club lounges as complimentary guests. Code-share and affiliated lounge agreements do not apply. The Business Platinum Card member must present his or her valid Business Platinum Card, government-issued I.D., and qualified airline ticket to airport club lounge agents. Complimentary access is specifically for the airport club lounge that corresponds to the airline operating the flight (access pertains to the aircraft, not the flight number) except with respect to American Airlines marketed code share flights with an American Airlines flight number which are also eligible for complimentary access to the lounge. Note that amenities may vary among airport club lounge locations. Meeting rooms may be reserved for a nominal fee. Business Platinum Card member and guests must adhere to all house rules of participating airport club lounges.
    
    
14. Starwood Preferred Gold Membership Business Platinum Cardmembers must phone 1-888-625-4990 and provide a reference code to enroll in the Starwood Preferred Guest program and to qualify for Gold Preferred membership (“Membership”). Membership is subject to the terms, conditions and restrictions of the Starwood Preferred Guest Program, which are subject to change without notice. This benefit is subject to change and may be discontinued at any time. American Express reserves the right to instruct Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. to cancel your Membership if you cease to be a Business Platinum Card member. Bookings must be charged to the Business Platinum Card. Fine Hotels and Resorts amenities may not be combinable with Gold Preferred level amenities. Preferred rooms are identified by each property and are superior standard rooms that may include rooms on higher floors, corner rooms, newly renovated rooms, or rooms with preferred views. Preferred rooms do not include suites. Upgrades are subject to availability at time of check in for the length of the stay, provided the room was not booked through a pre-paid third party channel. The upgrade benefit is available for one room for the personal use of the Business Platinum Card member only, regardless of the number of additional rooms purchased. Late check-out may not be available at some properties.
    
    
15. Membership in Fairmont President’s Club Platinum Membership is subject to the terms, conditions and restrictions of Fairmont Hotels & Resorts which are subject to change without notice. American Express reserves the right to instruct Fairmont Hotels & Resorts to cancel your Membership if you cease to be a Business Platinum Card member. Bookings must be charged to your Business Platinum Card. Bookings must be charged to your American Express Card.
    
    
16. Upon authorization by the Business Platinum Card member, Concierge uses its best efforts to source or arrange the purchase of requested goods or services from a supplier. There is no charge for using the services of Concierge, however the Cardmember will be responsible for paying the supplier for any purchases and/or shipping charges you authorize, as well as any other fees or related costs that may apply. Amex Bank of Canada cannot be responsible for the acts or omissions of suppliers, and cannot guarantee successful fulfillment of Cardmember requests in all instances.
    
    
17. The International Airline Program (the “Program”) offers a complimentary or discounted companion ticket, complimentary upgrade, special class fare or discounted fare on participating airlines to holders of an eligible basic American Express Cards (“Eligible Cards”) as described in this Welcome Brochure or are otherwise identified to you by American Express (“Eligible Cardmember”). In order to take advantage of the Program, the Eligible Cardmember’s account must be active (meaning not cancelled).
    
    
18. Underwritten by Royal & Sun Alliance Insurance Company of Canada. Coverage is in effect as long as you have fully charged your rental to your Business Platinum Card. There are specific conditions that apply to who may rent and drive the rental vehicle, the length of rental(s) and the type of vehicle covered.

21. Travel Accident Insurance provides automatic coverage of up to $500,000 of Accidental Death and Dismemberment insurance when you fully charge your plane, train, ship or bus tickets to your Card. Use the Card to book tickets for your spouse, dependant children (under 23) or any Business Platinum Supplementary Cardmember and they will also be covered. Spouse and dependant children (under 23) of Business Platinum Supplementary Cardmembers are also covered. Travel Accident Insurance is Underwritten by ACE INA Life Insurance, Head Office in Canada: Toronto, Ontario, under Master Policy TMH600135.
    
    
22. All the services associated with the Travel Emergency Assistance are provided worldwide with the exception of some countries (it is best to check with Customer Service). In addition, services may be limited or prevented by acts of God, war, civil commotion, labour disputes, unavailability of goods or services, or refusal of permission by local authorities.
    
    
23. Employee Card Misuse Protection is not insurance. It is a benefit made available to you by Amex Bank of Canada and Administered by Royal & Sun Alliance Insurance Company of Canada. Please read the terms and conditions of the Employee Card Misuse Protection carefully, as they include specific terms, limitations, conditions and exclusions that may affect your coverage
