Purchase Protection® Plan †*
Many retail items that are purchased anywhere in the world with the Card are automatically insured for 90 days from the date of purchase against accidental physical damage and most theft. Purchase Protection Plan pays the deductible and any difference between what your other insurance pays and the full purchase price up to $1,000 per insured occurrence (not per purchased item). If no other coverage is applicable, Purchase Protection pays toward the repair or replacement up to the full purchase price (limit $1,000).

Buyer's Assurance® Protection Plan*
The free repair period and the coverage given under the manufacturer's original warranty is automatically doubled for up to one additional year, on many products purchased (motorized vehicles and their parts are excluded) with the Card in Canada and the U.S., provided the manufacturer's warranty does not exceed five years. You will need approval from American Express before any repairs will be covered. Repair costs are limited to $25,000 per eligible item.
Buyer’s Assurance extends the original equipment manufacturer’s basic warranty, the plan will not extend any additional coverage’s purchased from the manufacturer, retailer or any other source.
