safe. Plus we offer you access to emergency services 24/7.

  • Backup Card

    At purchase, you will receive a Backup Card with a separate PIN. When you report your Card as lost or stolen, we will deactivate it and activate your Backup Card.

  • Emergency Card Replacement

    We will send a replacement Card, free of charge, to your chosen destination.
    Simply contact Customer Service immediately for help if your Backup Card is lost
    or stolen.

  • Emergency Travel Money Card Funds Access

    While you are waiting for your replacement Card to be delivered, you can access the remaining funds in your Card account by emergency money transfer via Western Union. Please note that standard limits apply and that funds will only be released to the Cardmember.

  • 24/7 Emergency Travel, Medical, Legal, and Other Help

    The American Express GlobalTravel Card gives you access to emergency services from Global Assist®, including:

(2) Note: If you load AUD $2,500 onto your Card, the reload fee will be the lesser of 1% of the reload amount (AUD $25) and AUD $10. In this case the reload fee will be $10 and your net reload will be AUD $2,490. Load and Reload Fees are inclusive of GST.

(3) The American Express GlobalTravel Card 3% Cross Currency Conversion Fee will be reduced for a limited time to 0% from 28 October 2013 – 31 November 2016. The American Express GlobalTravel Card cannot be used in Australia or other countries where Australian and United States sanctions apply.

(4) Some ATM owners may charge an additional fee when the Card is used. This fee is determined and charged by the ATM owner and is not retained by us.
