How We Pay You


Payment types


You'll receive payments for your American Express transactions in your bank account as quickly as one business day.1 Your payment will be made in one of the following ways depending on how your Merchant Account is set up.

Gross Pay

You'll receive the full value of your American Express transactions. We then debit your Account for any Merchant Service fees on approximately 7th of each month, or each Friday.



Net Pay

You'll receive American Express transactions less any Merchant Service Fee.

When you need to pay us



There may be times when your Account is in debit. For example, when you've given refunds to Card Members, have outstanding fees, or a Chargeback has been debited after a Card Member dispute.


If you submit transactions to American Express, we'll deduct what you owe us from the next payment(s) we make to your business. If those payments are not sufficient to clear the outstanding amount, we will debit your bank account for the amount due.
