    • 1. How do I redeem my points?

      Redeeming is easy. Just follow these three simple steps:
      1. Check your points balance. You can do this by visiting membershiprewards.ca and logging in to your account.

      2. Choose your Rewards. Our website features a wide range of exciting Rewards including: top-brand merchandise, gift cards and certificates, as well as premium travel and entertainment options.

      3. Click or call. Follow the instructions on our website to complete your redemption. Alternatively, you may call us at 1-800-668-2639. Small Business Cardmembers, please call 1-888-721-1046. Corporate Cardmembers, please call 1-800-716-6661.

      Please note, if you want to redeem points, your Card and all other Linked Cards must not be past due (e.g. we have not received the required minimum monthly payment due on the Card on time). If a Card is past due, we must first receive the amount owing in order for you to redeem points.


    • 2. How do I transfer my points to another loyalty program?

      If your Card has these reward options available, transferring your points to a participating frequent flyer or other loyalty program is easy. To transfer points to one of these third parties, you must first connect your Membership Rewards points account to the account in your name with the third party.

    • 3. Can I transfer points into someone else's frequent flyer or loyalty program account?

      No, Membership Rewards points can only be transferred by you into an account in your name. For more details, view the Membership Rewards Program Terms & Conditions
    • 4. Does American Express automatically transfer points to my frequent flyer or other loyalty program account?

      No, if you want to transfer your points to your eligible frequent flyer or other loyalty program you must first register the program account with us, then login to your Membership Rewards account or call 1-800-668-2639 to process the transfer.

      Small Business Cardmembers, please call 1-888-721-1046. Corporate Cardmembers, please call 1-800-716-6661.

    • 5. I've transferred points from my Membership Rewards account to my frequent flyer or other loyalty program account but I can't get the booking I want. Can I transfer them back?

      No. Once points are transferred, the transfer cannot be reversed. Prior to transferring your points, please confirm reward availability with the third party rewards program.


    • 6. I've transferred points from my Membership Rewards account to my frequent flyer or other loyalty program account. Are bookings made with those transferred points eligible for the embedded travel insurance coverage on my Card?

      Once you transfer your Membership Rewards points, they become part of and subject to the terms and conditions of the third party rewards program. Some travel insurance related benefits that may be included with your Card may not provide coverage for trips purchased with points from a third party rewards program. Please see the terms and limitations outlined in your Card’s insurance certificates for details. To purchase additional coverage, please visit AMEX Travel Insurance.


    • 7. How long does it take to transfer points to my frequent flyer or other loyalty program account?

      Point transfers to Aeroplan®* and Delta SkyMiles® are instant, provided you have a valid account with them that is already registered in our system. All other transfers it may take up to 5 business days.

    • 8. How long does it take to process my order?

      We will process your request as quickly as possible.
      Please note:
      - Merchandise items may take between 2-4 weeks for delivery.
      - Gift Cards and Certificates may take between 3-5 days for delivery.
      - Point transfers may take up to 5 business days.
    • 9. Are there any restrictions as to when I can use my gift cards or certificates?

      With a few gift cards and certificates there are times during the year when availability is limited. Please consult the terms that come with the gift card for additional information, such as expiry or use by dates.

    • 10. Can I send items to a different address or someone else?

      Yes. You can change the delivery name and address at checkout. However, please note that Rewards cannot be delivered to a PO box or to an address outside Canada.

    • 11. How do I return unwanted items?

      Once you redeem points for merchandise, gift cards, or gift certificates, they are not refundable, replaceable, or redeemable for cash, credit, or points.

      Some merchandise items can only be returned if they are incorrect, damaged or defective. If you received a damaged or defective item, or if your order was incorrect, please contact Customer Service at 1-866-454-3549. Please note that any electronic goods requested for a return must first comply with one of the above mentioned reasons in order to receive a return label; all such electronic return requests must be made no later than 10 days of receipt of item in order to be honoured and must be returned in their original packaging. This policy excludes Apple products, as they are non-returnable and directly warranted by Apple. 

       
    • 12. Can orders be shipped overseas or to a PO box?

      Orders can only be shipped to a Canadian address. Orders cannot be shipped to PO boxes.


    • 13. Can I redeem points for a credit to my Card?

      W ith the Use Points for Purchases program, eligible Cardmembers can redeem points for a statement credit towards an eligible purchase charged to their Card. Redemption rates may vary by Card. Register for online services to view your eligible purchases and to redeem online. You can also view eligible purchases and redeem directly in the Amex App. Only eligible purchases posted to your Card account will be displayed for redemption. If you wish to redeem points towards an eligible purchase within the last 12 months that is not displayed online, please contact us at the number listed on the back of your Card. Full terms and conditions for the Use Points for Purchases Program can be found at www.americanexpress.ca/usepointsforpurchases The Use Points for Purchases Program is not available for Corporate Cardmembers.
    • 14. Can I pay for purchases with my points?

      Yes, you may be eligible to redeem points to pay for purchases at Amazon.ca or Ticketmaster.ca
