Protecting the purchases on your Card

  1. The maximum amount of time for deferred payment on purchases is 54 days and is obtained only if you spend on first day of new statement period and repay the balance in full on the due date.
  2. Purchases are approved based on a variety of factors including account history, credit record and personal resources, security may be required. We reserve the right to apply temporary spending limits in accordance with the Cardmember Agreement.
  3. You are entitled to apply for one complimentary Supplementary Platinum Business Card, and up to four complimentary Gold Supplementary Cards. Additional Platinum Supplementary Cards beyond this will each carry a fee of £170 and additional Gold Cards will carry a fee of £45.
  4. Membership Rewards points are earned for virtually every full £1 spent and charged, per transaction. Membership Rewards points are not earned on Balance Transfers, Cash Advances, American Express Travellers Cheque purchases, Foreign Exchange, Fees and Interest Charges for Returned payments, Finance Charges, Late Payment and Referral Charges, Fees/Charges including joining, annual and Membership Rewards fees. Membership Rewards points never expire as long as the account is active.
  5. All redemption examples are correct at the time of going to print.

  7. All tickets must be purchased using your American Express Card. Tickets are subject to availability. Please note that American Express Invites refers to the name of the American Express programme rather than a description of ticket type.
  8. Present your Priority Pass membership card, boarding pass and passport for access to over 600 lounges in the Priority Pass programme. You (the Primary Cardmember) and your 1st Platinum Supplementary Cardmember need to [enrol] in the Priority Pass programme.
     In order to access Priority Pass lounges, you [or your 1st Platinum Supplementary Cardmember] must present:
    • a valid Priority Pass membership card in your [or your 1st Platinum Supplementary Cardmember’s] name;
    • your [or your 1st Platinum Supplementary Cardmember’s] boarding pass for same day travel; and
    • your [or your 1st Platinum Supplementary Cardmember’s] passport.  
    You and your 1st Platinum Supplementary Cardmember will be charged lounge usage fees for any accompanying guests, at the prevailing rate – currently £15 per person, per visit, to your American Express Platinum Business Card.   9. Valid for new FINE HOTELS & RESORTS bookings made through Platinum Travel Service or any American Express travel agency. Payment must be made with an American Express Platinum Business Card in the Platinum Business Cardmember’s name. Cardmember must travel on itinerary booked. Noon check-in upon arrival, when available. Room upgrade upon arrival, when available. Certain room categories are not eligible for room upgrade; call Platinum Travel Service for details. Breakfast amenity varies by property, but will be at minimum a continental breakfast. Benefit restrictions vary by hotel and cannot be redeemed for cash, and may not be combined with other offers unless indicated. Benefits and promotions are applied at checkout and expire at checkout.
