OFFICIALLY VALID DOCUMENTS (OVD) REQUIRED TO APPLY FOR AN AMERICAN EXPRESS® CORPORATE CARD

(UPDATED AS OF APRIL - 2020)

Applicant(s) needs to submit a valid Officially Valid Document (OVD). Document(s) containing current address and photograph can serve both as identity and Address proof. The document(s) submitted should have a clear photograph and complete Date of Birth mentioned and the address mentioned on the document should match with the current address given on the application form.

1. KYC Documents required (Please provide anyone of the following OVD's)

  • Passport (first and last page), Driving licence^, Voter ID Card, Job Card issued by NREGA duly signed by the officer of the State Government, Proof of possession of Aadhaar*, Letter issued by the National Population Register containing details of name and address.
  • Document shall be deemed to be an OVD even if there is a change in the name subsequent to its issuance provided it is supported by a marriage certificate issued by the State Government or Gazette notification, indicating such a change of name.
  • In case of foreign nationals – the documents issued by the Government departments of foreign jurisdictions and letter issued by the Foreign Embassy or Mission in India shall be accepted as proof of address.

Other Documents required#

  • Copy of PAN Card OR Form 60*.
  • Recent Passport size photograph*.

     

2. Where the OVD furnished by the customer does not have updated address, the following documents shall be deemed to be OVDs for the limited purpose of proof of address :-

 

  • utility bill which is not more than two months old of any service provider (electricity, telephone, post-paid mobile phone, piped gas, water bill);
  • property or Municipal tax receipt;
  • pension or family pension payment orders (PPOs) issued to retired employees by Government Departments or Public Sector Undertakings, if they contain the address;
  • letter of allotment of accommodation from employer issued by State Government or Central Government Departments, statutory or regulatory bodies, public sector undertakings, scheduled commercial banks, financial institutions and listed companies and leave and licence agreements with such employers allotting social accommodation;

     

3. Where OVD furnished by the customer is Proof of Possession of Aadhaar, which does not have the updated current address, customer should provide a self-declaration as set out in ‘Applicant Declaration’ section in the application form.

 

4. The customer shall submit OVD with current address within a period of three months of submitting the documents/declaration specified in clause “2” & “3” above.

In case any documents are uploaded/shared and they carry Aadhaar number, please mask the first eight digits of the Aadhaar number while uploading/sharing.

^Learner’s driving license is not acceptable. Maharashtra issued DL issued in 2011 or onwards is not acceptable as address proof. Delhi issued DL issued in 2012 or onwards is not acceptable as address proof.

* Form 60 to be submitted along with recent passport size photograph.
