If you have received goods or services that are damaged or defective or not as described, the first course of action would be for you to contact the company directly with your complaint. Should you be unhappy with their response, we will step in. Just call us on 01273 696 933 and we will take it from there. For eligible items purchased on the Card that are stolen or damaged accidentally, the Purchase Protection Cover will replace, repair or refund the item for up to 90 days after the date of purchase1.

Purchase Protection Cover is included on the following Cards: The Centurion® Card, The Platinum Card®, The Gold Card, Preferred Rewards Gold Card®, The Green Card, The American Express® Card, The Platinum Credit Card, Platinum Cashback Credit Card, American Express® Gold Credit Card, American Express® Green Credit Card , Blue from American Express, American Express® RED Card, Express Rewards Credit Card, The Nectar Credit Card, British Airways American Express® Credit Card, British Airways American Express® Premium Card, British Airways American Express® Premium Plus Card, Starwood Preferred Guest® Credit Card, American Express® Business Platinum Card®, American Express® Business Gold Card, American Express Platinum Business Cashback Credit Card, The Nectar Business Credit Card.
1. a) Purchase Protection: Up to £20,000 for every 365 day period, for eligible items up to a maximum of £2,500, stolen or accidentally damaged within 90 days of purchase. Exclusions apply. See Summary of Benefits for full details and requirements.

b) American Express Services Europe Limited ("AESEL") makes various benefits available to Cardmembers which derive from contracts which AESEL made from third parties.AESEL is free to amend,extend or terminate these benefits as its sole discretion.These benefits do not form part of AESEL's contract with you but AESEL will provide reasonable notice,in any event no less than 30 days in advance of any changes to the available benefits which may be to your detriment. One of the benefits currently available is the benefit of contracts of insurance held by AESEL with certain insurers. You will lose these benefits if you cease to be a Cardmember.Terms,conditions and exclusions apply. Full details of the insurance benefits currently available can be found in Your Insurance Documentation availabe on this website and which will be provided with your Card. Please read this document to understand the limits and exclusions that may apply.

With Refund Protection Cover2, if you’re dissatisfied with any eligible purchase you made with the Card and the UK retailer won’t take it back, we’ll reimburse you for the purchase price, up to £200 per item.
