You earn Membership Rewards Points for all eligible purchases charged to your Card. Simply use your American Express card for all your purchases and watch your Points add up quickly.

Subject to the terms and conditions of the Membership Rewards Program, Cardmembers will earn Membership Rewards Points, as mentioned below:

Personal Cards:

• On the American Express Platinum Card, you earn 5 Membership Rewards Points for every Rs. 100 spent on Fuel* (capped at a maximum of 5000 Points every calendar month), and No Membership Rewards Points on spends at Insurance and Other Utility Services^. You also earn 1 Membership Rewards Point for every Rs. 40 on all other spends.

• On the American Express Gold Card, you earn 1 Membership Rewards Point for every Rs.50 spent on Fuel* (capped at a maximum of 5000 Points every calendar month) and on Other Utility Services^ (capped to a maximum of 10000 Points every calendar month), and No Membership Rewards Points on spends at Insurance^. You also earn 1 Membership Rewards Point for every Rs. 50 on all other spends.

• On all other Personal Cards, you earn 1 Membership Rewards Point for every Rs. 50 spent on all purchases, except Fuel*, Insurance and Other Utility Services^, where you earn No Membership Rewards Points.

• On all Personal Credit Cards, Cardmembers will not earn Membership Rewards Points on any EMI option selected from a merchant's website (e.g. online shopping with Amazon or Flipkart) and on any EMI option selected at a merchant's terminal (e.g. a Chip and PIN transaction at a Croma store). 

Corporate Cards:

• On the American Express Platinum Corporate Card, you earn 1 Membership Rewards Point for every Rs. 40 spent on all purchases, except on Telecommunications#, Insurance, Fuel* and Other Utility Services^, where you earn 1 Membership Rewards Point for every Rs.100 spent. With effect from 15th September 2023, you will earn 1 Point for every Rs.100 spent on Wholesale spends¹.

• On the American Express Green Corporate Card(s) and American Express Gold Corporate card(s), you earn 1 Membership Rewards Point for every Rs. 50 spent on all purchases, except on Telecommunications#, Insurance, Fuel* and Other Utility Services^, where you earn 1 Membership Rewards Point for every Rs.100 spent. With effect from 15th September 2023, you will earn 1 Point for every Rs.100 spent on Wholesale spends¹.

* Fuel includes spends on petrol, diesel, CNG, other products from Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs)  . ^ Other Utility Services include providers of household/domestic electricity, gas and water. These providers can be government departments and agencies including local, state, municipal organizations; public housing societies and apartment associations. # Telecommunications includes providers of landline phones, mobile phones, cable and other pay TV services, and calling cards. ¹Wholesale spends includes spends on wholesale business services, wholesale professional services, wholesale transportation, wholesale computer industrial office and wholesale goods  (e.g. security agencies, transportation/courier agencies, advertising agencies, consulting/advisory firms, wholesale stores, etc.)

Yes, you can. Your Points can also be 'topped-up' by purchasing Points in multiples of 1,000 (1,000 Points can be purchased for Rs. 400 only). You can buy Points equal to the Points already accumulated in your account or 10,000 Points (whichever is lower) and redeem them immediately online. The cost of the Points purchased will be charged to your Card and will appear in your next statement. # The charges for Points purchased under Points Top-up and balance payment made under 'Points+Pay' are not eligible for earning further Membership Rewards Points. Purchase of Points shall be purely at the discretion of American Express.

Transferring your points to a participating frequent flyer partner programme or frequent guest programme is easy. In order to transfer your Membership Rewards Points to a participating Frequent Flyer Programme or Frequent Hotel Guest Programme, you first need to register* your Frequent Flyer Number with by visiting your online account or by calling us on our 24x7 Membership Services Helpline. Post a succesful linkage, you can transfer your Membership Rewards Points to your Frequent Flyer/Guest Account.

No, if you want to transfer your points to your eligible frequent flyer or other loyalty program you must first register the program account with us, then login to your Membership Rewards account or call us at our Membership Services to process the transfer

It usually takes up to 3-5 working days for this process to be completed, provided  your Frequent Flyer Programme number or Frequent Hotel Guest Programme Account Number is registered with us. Please allow enough time for the transfer to be completed while planning a holiday or other trip.

No. The Membership Rewards Programme allows you to transfer Points only to your own account with a participating Frequent Flyer/Guest Programme.

No. Point transfers to frequent flyer and frequent guest partner programmes are irreversible.

Only the Basic Cardmember can redeem points earned on their account. A Supplementary Cardmember will not have the authority to redeem the points.

You must use the redeemed e-voucher before the expiry date and in accordance with the Terms and Conditions specified on any such e-vouchers. 

Yes. You can change the delivery name and address at checkout. However, please note that Rewards cannot be delivered at an address outside India.

Please note that rewards are not exchangeable, replaceable, transferable or refundable for cash or credit. Points once redeemed against any Reward cannot be reversed under any circumstances whatsoever.
