If I cancel my Membership Rewards® program account, what happens to the points I haven't redeemed?

If you choose to cancel your Membership Rewards® account and do not have another American Express® Card or Checking account, the points you have not redeemed will be forfeited immediately. As of December 10, 2023, New York Card Members may be able to redeem for 90 days after notice of account closure.
