  • What if I've forgotten my Personal Savings User Name and Password?

    If you’ve forgotten your user name and password, click here. After you’ve recovered your user name and password, please return to AmericanExpress.com and click on the “Manage My Savings” button to continue connecting your accounts.

  • What does “connecting accounts” mean?

    Until recently, every time you wanted to switch between your American Express Card and Personal Savings accounts, you had to navigate to a new site and enter your login credentials. Now, we’ve made it possible to navigate between your accounts without having to log in and out each time.

    There are still two separate sites for your Card and Personal Savings accounts and your login credentials will remain the same. However, once you connect the accounts, you will be able to easily navigate from one account to the other. Simply enter your Personal Savings credentials into the “Connect Your Personal Savings Account” page and click “Log In to Personal Savings”. This is a safe, one-time process using industry security standards to connect the two sites.

    “Connecting” your accounts does not mean you will receive combined statements.

  • I have a Personal Savings Account, but no user name and password.

    If you have an account but need a user name and password, you need to first create online access to your account. After you’ve created a user name and password, please allow 2 to 3 days for us to update our system. Then return to your Card account on americanexpress.com and click on the “Manage My Savings” button to try again.

  • Does linking my accounts change the legal rights and relationships I have with American Express Personal Savings or other American Express products?

    No. The purpose of this feature is to make navigating between the American Express Personal Savings website and americanexpress.com more convenient for our customers. Each American Express product has unique terms and conditions and the addition of this capability will not change those terms and conditions. Please see the American Express Personal Savings Deposit Account Agreement for more details. 

  • Can I access my Personal Savings account in the American Express app?

    Sorry, not at this time. We are still working on connecting all of our systems to bring you the best possible experience.

  • Can I pay my Card bill on americanexpress.com using the funds in my Personal Savings account?

    You can pay your American Express Card bill with your American Express Personal Savings High Yield Savings Account by following these simple steps:

    1. Log in to your Card account at americanexpress.com
    2. Click Payments
    3. Then click Manage My Banks
    4. Then click Add a new bank account
    5. Enter your American Express Personal Savings account number and the American Express Personal Savings routing number – 124085066 – along with your other personal information

    Please know: paying your American Express Card bill from your Personal Savings account will count as one of your six withdrawals of the statement cycle.

  • Can I make Personal Savings transfers on americanexpress.com?

    Unfortunately no, not at this time. All Personal Savings transfers still need to be made on the Personal Savings website.

  • I don't have a Personal Savings account.

    If you don’t have an American Express Personal Savings account, you may have been directed to link your accounts in error. If you would like to learn more about Personal Savings, please click here

  • I’m receiving an error message. What do I do?

    If you received this error message:

    The User Name and Password combination you provided is not valid. If you need assistance, please contact us at 1-800-446-6307 as continual failed attempts to log in will temporarily lock your account.

    You can either call us at 1-800-446-6307 or reset your password here.

    If you received this error message:

    We are unable to link your account with the information provided, please contact us at 1-800-446-6307.
